MD Electric Group is a full-service electrical contracting organization headquartered in Tacoma, Washington. We operate four specialized divisions serving the U.S. Navy, commercial shipyards, and industrial facilities across the Pacific Northwest. Our workforce holds union credentials, federal security clearances, and 26 years of demonstrated performance on projects from USCG cutters to $54 million campus builds.
Fail-Safe Electric is MDEG's UL 508A certified panel shop. Motor control centers, VFD enclosures, marine-grade switchboards, portable power skids, isolation carts, and custom alarm and communication systems are designed, fabricated, and installed by the same team. One contract, one accountability boundary.
The 508A label is not decoration. NEC 2026 requires listed industrial control panels for installations tied into the grid or carrying personnel-safety functions. Unlabeled or non-compliant panels fail inspection, trigger schedule penalties, complicate insurance, and on industrial sites expose project budgets to $10,000 to $100,000 per day in downtime while the issue is resolved. Fail-Safe Electric's panels are listed at the source.
The shop sits in Tacoma. The engineers, fabricators, and installers carry twenty-six years of MDEG DoD contracting experience. Project envelopes run one to twelve weeks across Washington and Alaska.

Our commitment has not changed: honest work, innovative solutions, and the technical depth to deliver on every contract.
